The European Central Punk

A new band is soon breaking through the music market. A band I was asked to write lyrics for.

My Austrian friends announced it is time to make the public hear and feel the music of the European Central Punk. Because the idea was born in Turkey, my first lyrics would be the following:

There was a girl who had an amnesia
after raki* use for anaesthesia
her memory was blank
no lyrics for central punk
she just had a weird synesthesia

* Turkish alcohol

Take a loan from a holy spirit

A little bit of holy spirit is needed everywhere. Also in banking. Or, perhaps, especially for banking sector, right now.

On a tour for help goes Greek prime minister
Trying to fill their empty fiscal canister

Monetary genesis

In the beginning God created sterling and the franc.

On the second day He created the currency board and, Lo, money was well managed.

On the third day God decided that man should have free will and so He created the budget deficit.

On the fourth day, however, God looked upon His work and was dissatisfied. It was not enough.

So, on the fifth day God created the central bank to validate the sins of man.

On the sixth day God completed His work by creating man and giving him dominion over all God’s creatures.

Then, while God rested on the seventh day, man created inflation and the balance-of-payments problem.

“You’re fired!” Part 3(the last one)

At last there is an end to the stormy story of a governor of central bank in Argentina. Mr Redrado decided to quit his job few days ago, and thus he accepted the status quo that Argentina does not have an independent central bank.

This story would just end with this sad finale if only Redrado was allowed to quit. Officials in Argentina, again, didn’t let him make his own decision because they said, Mr Redrado was already fired, hence he cannot quit.

Sad, very sad.

I wonder what kind of economic and international consequences (if any) this is going to bring.
